Welcome, Fellow BFF!

Hi, I’m Madison, and I’m so glad you’re here. There’s so much I want to share with you, but before we dive into the future, I’d love to take you on a journey through my past—the path that led to the creation of BFF Yoga.

The Seeds of BFF Yoga

BFF Yoga blossomed during my 200-hour yoga teacher training. Looking around the room, I realized how much this intensive training taught me about myself. It was incredible to know that my peers and friends were going through the same transformative experience. I relished this rediscovery of who I was, pouring time and energy into something purely for my well-being. It felt so good to invest in myself.

But BFF Yoga had been in the making long before that. As I grew up, I was introduced to many different versions of myself. Each stage of life brought new relationships, friendships, and evolving views of who I was. Every experience and connection prepared me for this next chapter—learning to be my best friend.

The Philosophy of Ahimsa

At the heart of BFF Yoga is ahimsa, which means non-violence. Traditionally, ahimsa is about kindness and compassion toward others, but it also applies to how we treat ourselves. Self-care isn’t just about external gratifications, like treating yourself to something nice or enjoying a day of relaxation. Ahimsa invites us to look inward, to consider how we speak to ourselves and how we treat our own minds and bodies.

The Practice

In every 60-minute vinyasa flow at BFF Yoga, each breath and movement is an opportunity to deepen your connection with yourself. As we flow, we identify and acknowledge those repetitive thought loops—am I good enough? Am I doing enough? Should I be doing more? These are the stories we tell ourselves, and ahimsa teaches us to challenge them.

What would you say to a friend who was having these thoughts? You’d encourage them, cheer them on, remind them of their worth. BFF Yoga is about learning to speak to yourself with that same love and kindness. The flow challenges us to begin again, to start treating ourselves as we would our best friend.

A Message of Gratitude

Thank you for showing up for yourself today. You deserve it. Do something kind for yourself—you’re worth it.

With love,
Madison
